Alfonso began his career as a professor and researcher at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. In 1988, he started his consulting career at Arthur Andersen (now Accenture), participating in People Management and Organizational Change Management projects. In 1997, he was appointed General Manager of Watson Wyatt Worldwide with responsibility for Spain.
In 2003, he founded PeopleMatters, a People Management Consulting Firm, until February 2020, when he was appointed Honorary Partner. Since July 2020 he has been a member of the Advisory Board of Atrevía, Spain’s leading communications agency.
He is member of several business and professional associations such as APD, Instituto de Consejeros y Administradores, IESE Alumni or AEDIPE. He is currently a member of the National Board of Directors of AED (Spanish Association of Directors) and member of its Remuneration and Nomination Committee.
Alfonso has developed an extensive professional career as Organization and People Consultant, as CEO and as an entrepreneur. In addition, he has an intense academic activity as Professor in several universities and business schools (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, IE Business School, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Universidad Europea de Madrid, Centro de Estudios Garrigues, Euroforum, APD, SHRM, Sagardoy Business School…).
He recently founded Recruiting Erasmus, a digital platform. He has written several books on his areas of expertise, being a regular speaker in financial and specialized environments, lecturer in congresses, speaker in professional forums and frequently contributes in academic and professional social networks.
At Exec Avenue, A Eurosearch Company, Alfonso contributes with his experience in People Management, mainly in the environment of Corporate Governance Boards, Boards of Directors and Advisory Boards contributing with his professional experience in multiple sectors of Industry, Infrastructures and Services.
